02/15/2008 Rutgers Lands Fall Out Boy for Gridiron Bash

Fall Out Boy has fallen for Rutgers football.

Chicago emo-rockers Fall Out Boy will perform at 7 p.m. April 18 in the Gridiron Bash at Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway leading up to Rutgers' annual spring football game. Tickets, $43, are on sale through www.scarletknights.com and www.gridironbash.com.

The Gridiron Bash is billed as the largest pep rally ever, according to scarletknights.com, and will take place simultaneously across the country in schools such as Penn State, University of Colorado, Texas A&M, Arizona State University and University of South Carolina. Musical acts including Fergie, Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, Counting Crows, ZZ Top, Goo Goo Dolls,Dwight Yoakam, Taylor Swift, Montgomery Gentry, Good Charlotte, O.A.R. and The Black Crowes will perform at the Bashes.

Along with Fall Out Boy, the Rutgers football team will be introduced and there will be interactive activities for fans on April 18.

Additionally, there is a "USA Today Bash for Cash Series'' that will determine the country's most passionate and supportive fans. The winning schools will receive cash contributions for their general scholarship funds.
