02/15/2008 Black Crowes Set to Perform at Williams-Brice
Columbia (WLTX) -- USC officials have confirmed that the Black Crowes will perform at Williams-Brice Stadium the day before the annual Garnet & Black Spring Game, on April 18th.
The performance will be part of a promotion an entertainment company is producing called "Gridiron Bash: The Ultimate Fan Competition."
The show begins at 7 p.m., and will include appearances from coaches, cheerleaders, Cocky, and the marching band.
Tickets for the event are $38, and they go on sale Monday at 10 a.m., promoters say. You can find tickets at the University of South Carolina Athletics Ticket Office at the Colonial Center, or you can call 1-866-4SC-TIXX. Promoters say tickets can also be purchased at Piggly Wiggly locations in Columbia and Lexington, and Play-It-Again-Sports locations.
The Gridiron Bash features the USA Today Bash for Cash series that involves all of the participating universities, including Texas A&M, Penn State, Kansas State, Iowa, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado and Rutgers. The winner of the bash will be the school that features the most people in attendance, and combining the number with the number of fans who text or call in a vote to their school, officials say. Promoters expect the event to top 1 Million people, at all participating schools.
The university that wins the USA Today Bash For Cash series will receive $1 Million to their general scholarship fund, with second and third place winning $500,000 and $250,000, respectively.
